MECHANICAL/ PRODUCT DESIGN ENGINEER
Hi! My name is Sandeep Mistry and currently working as Mechanical Design Engineer at KLA, developing and integrating hardware for the 200mm & 300mm bare Silicon wafer to gather metrology specs for further processing in semiconductor industry. I have a prior three years of work experience as a Mechanical Engineer at Berkshire Grey where I specialized in designing, testing and installing hardware system for industrial automation of warehouse using Robotic Pick & Pack as well mobile Robots and two and a half years of industrial experience as Design Engineer in high volume manufacturing of piping process lines at Jacobs Engineering where I executed critical modification in design models and issued 5600 detailed drawings for on site fabrication and installation of Shell's chemical plant in Geismer, Louisiana. I have a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University with a specialization in Product Design & Development. My journey started with building transformers robots out of cloth pegs, playing with Legos and Mechanix set to build items listed in catalog sparked by a curious and creative mind to see how things work by building, testing, breaking and reverse engineering. The skills, passion and experience required for product design, fabrication and analysis matured through developing 'Regenerative Braking System' during my undergrad to redesigning 'Ice hockey dasher board 2.0' achieving 'Best Overall' award. I love immersing myself in the whole product life cycle right from ideation & sketches for mechanism, 3D modeling, performing FEA and hands on prototyping & physical testing for delivering a functional product. I love coming up with good mechanism ideas which are simple enough to be manufactured and have strong experience in optimizing the product to improve it's interaction with end user. User feedback and constructive criticism on my design ideas have always inspired me to develop a better version of products.
