The main aim of these challenge is to have a lightweight core structure used for Automated Fibre Placement (AFP) process wherein the optimized skeletal structure having close to original or improved load bearing capacity.

Comparative ANSYS analysis between original, lattice structured and topology optimized model:

Result:

Final results validate that the lattice structured (rigid and dense cell packing) model occupies 52.38% volume than original and has high strength bearing capacity with moderate safety factor of 8.
